The 2023 season so far has been a rough one for the Craftsman Truck Series driver Hailie Deegan. With the debacle at Toyota 200, the Thor Sport driver for the third time this season could not finish her race. And this has surely added to the disappointment of the driver, who had clearly high hopes for her new season with Thor Sport.

However, the worst happened with her in the Toyota 200, when she was shoved by Rev Racing’s Nick Sanchez and hit the outside wall. Although Sanchez had officially apologized to her, the disappointment of losing a position is yet to subside, as Deegan mocks herself in a video posted on Instagram.

The third wreck of the season that Hailie Deegan survived was harrowing in nature and could have ended up getting someone hurt. But nothing like that happened as she pressed the brakes as hard as she could.

The incident occurred at the World Wide Technology at the Truck Series in lap 87, on Turn 3, when the ThorSport driver tried to make her headway in the top 10. However, the rookie from Rev Racing got on Deegan’s tailgate and spun her on the track. The Ford driver collided with the outside barriers and mangled her truck. This forced her to retire early from the race and also forfeit a good result.

After surviving the harrowing crash, the driver, after being evaluated by the care center, expressed the fact, that she got “shipped” by the rookie driver.

She added, “I think we were still in the Top 10. Three-wide in the middle, and the No. 15 cleared himself up, kind of ruined all three of our runs. The No. 2 came in, hit me once, hit me again, and shipped me off. It destroyed our truck. Ended our day. I don’t know. It is what it is. Can’t change it. We’re trying to do our part and just got shipped.”

And she is yet to get over the fact that she could have got a favorable result had she not been wrecked. She posted her own disappointment by posting a clip of her vlog from the race day and crashing with the outside wall. And as a tone of mockery to herself, Deegan added Miley Cyrus’ song “Wreck Ball.”

The Thor Sport Driver Was Recently at the Receiving End of Criticism for Wrecking Her Fellow Drivers

If you have been following the Truck Series this season, you’d know that Deegan has not only been wrecked by her fellow drivers but has also wrecked the other drivers. This was apparent at North Wilkesboro, where she contentiously wrecked Dean Thompson of Tricon Garage.

The Thor Sport driver had made rash contact with Dean Thompson, who was on the outside of Deegan, forcing him to reel on the track and face a significant amount of impact after crashing into the outside wall.

After retiring from the race, a disappointed Thompson was asked, “So Dean, what happened between you and Hailie Degan there? Earlier said you tried to be the cleanest driver and that you feel like maybe you gotta race like this.’

He replied, “Yeah, the Truck Series is, it’s all taken no given. Dirtiest drivers I have ever raced with. Yeah, I gotta thank Thompson Pipes, Tricon Garage, Assured Partners, and Toyota Racing.”

It is surely disappointing for both the drivers to lose their special points to these contentions. But for the longest period, Deegan has been on the receiving end of criticism. However, repeatedly she has proved, as a female driver, she has the required potential to make her mark on the tracks of NASCAR.
