“…It Gives You Information, Even if It’s Bad” – Danica Patrick Sheds Light on the Feedback for Her Broadcasting Gig at FOX Sports

Whether it’s positive or negative, feedback is a pretty crucial part of almost all endeavors one takes in life. But reacting to feedback is a fine line. Ignoring it completely isn’t ideal, and neither is taking it too personally. So it’s better to look at it as ‘information’ instead of a judgment. At least that’s what former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick is doing.

Patrick, who is currently on a two-race stint in the FOX Sports booth alongside former teammate Clint Bowyer, recently revealed whether she takes into consideration the feedback she receives.

“I do a little bit. It can be dangerous, but it’s information,” she said. “There’s a certain level of looking at perspectives where it gives you information, even if it’s bad.”

However, in her case, she revealed it has been “pretty good so far.” 

“I’ve gotten quite a few nice messages, and it seems like there’s been good feedback on social media. I’ll try to do my best this weekend at Phoenix and hopefully it should be a little easier,” she added.

Patrick described how finding your rhythm alongside stepping into the rhythm of the Clint Bowyer-Mike Joy duo takes “a little bit of time.” 

“I think this weekend we’ll pick up where we left off and laugh a little, call a great race and I’m sure exciting things will happen.”

Danica Patrick retired from all forms of motorsports after the 2017 season. Yet despite that, she made a couple of appearances in her ‘retirement’; one was the Daytona 500 and the other was the Indianapolis 500, both in 2018.

But after that, Patrick ‘officially retired’ and hasn’t stepped into a racecar since.

So when she was asked about once again reconsidering her retirement, Patrick kept her answer crisp and apt – “No, I’m good. I’m smart enough to never say never, but I have no desire.”
