Jeff Gordon Pays the Ultimate Compliment to NASCAR Hall of Fame Inductee Dale Earnhardt Jr.

“Nothing that racing has given me will ever top this night,” NASCAR Hall of Fame’s most recent inductee, Dale Earnhardt Jr. said in his speech. He joined Red Farmer and Mike Stefanik into the prestigious HoF, cementing his legacy as one of the all-time greats.

But as if that wasn’t enough in itself, he received a compliment from arguably the greatest NASCAR driver that was as high as compliments go.

Jeff Gordon, four-time NASCAR champion and a member of HoF himself, said, “In the time I have been involved in racing, nobody has impacted the sport more than Dale Earnhardt Jr.”

Gordon also mentioned the incredible fan-following Earnhardt Jr. had, which is truly something that hadn’t happened before and hasn’t happened since.

“When he won, three-quarters of the grandstand stood up and cheered,” Gordon added.

Earnhardt Jr., who won the Most Popular Driver award for 15 years in a row, thanked his fans towards the end of the speech.

“There’s one key support system that’s always been consistent throughout my career, and that’s the fans,” he said. “Junior Nation has always had my back. When I stumbled, you guys were right there ready to lift me back up.”

“And man there were times when I absolutely needed you and you never let me down. You were always there.”

“We won together, and we lost together. And because so, you should know I don’t go into this Hall of Fame alone. I go with you and I go because of you,” Earnhardt Jr. added.

A fan shouted from the audience, “Love you Dale!”
