It’s no secret that the NASCAR community couldn’t have asked for a better insight into the world of NASCAR than what Netflix’s Full Speed docuseries provided. Not only did we get to witness some of our favorite drivers’ best moments from 2023, but also the most vulnerable ones. Whatever it was, each and every single moment from the show came under the intense scrutiny of fans and other industry insiders. But who would know that better than Dale Earnhardt Jr whose comments about Team Penske’s driver Joey Logano couldn’t fly under the radar. And what it led to was a confrontation between the two!

Dale Earnhardt Jr’s witty banter on Netflix catches up to him as Joey Logano calls him out

When Dale Earnhardt Jr said on Netflix – “Take him (Logano) out of the race car, Monday to Friday, and you would not think he is a race car driver. You’d think he was an insurance salesman or something. But when he gets behind the wheel, he turns into something else.” – the veteran aimed to highlight the split personality that Logano seemed to portray on and off the track. Whilst the Penske driver was nothing but fierce on the tarmac, he turned into quite the jolly fellow once in the pitlane.

While the intent behind Junior’s hilarious comparison was light-hearted, Logano made sure he’d have the last laugh. On the latest episode of the Dale Jr Download, Jr’s co-host highlighted Joey Logano’s reaction to the ‘Insurance’ joke. Apparently Logano stated, “I saw him the other day, and walked to him and said, ‘Hey, I got a problem with you.’ He’s l ike, ‘What?’ I’m like, ‘Really? Like,. an Insurance salesman? That’s what you think I look like?’ Because he said that in the Netflix show and I was like, ‘Come on. Man!’ 

Fortunately, Logano took the joke in good spirits, stating that the two shared a good laugh over it right after. But in all honesty, would Logano be a good insurance agent? The Penske driver was certainly confident in his abilities. He stated, “I mean I think I’d be a hell of a salesman, he’s probably not wrong, but I like to think I’m a better race car driver, but yeah. Sometimes you just can’t help the way you look!”

During the Netflix series, Dale Earnhardt Jr was on his A-game when it came to his roasts and comebacks. Whether it was considering Ryan Blaney to be the Marlboro Man owing to his cowboy hats or Logano as an Insurance agent, it seemed like the Penske drivers took the most of it. But whilst these two comparisons are still alright in most’s eyes, Junior comparing Austin Cindric to a popular figure in the Kids’ TV space may rub the star the wrong way.

Earnhardt Jr. stated that Cindric looks like Blippi, the popular Kids show host that “explores exciting things like fire trucks, zoos, animals” and much more. While the show is pretty interesting for kids, what Cindric may not find pleasing is Blippi’s attire. Wearing a blue and orange beanie with bright orange suspenders, it’s safe to say it’s not a look that many could nail. Speaking of which, Logano himself wasn’t sure he’d like the comparison himself, “With that bowtie? Yeah….I don’t know if that’s a good thing.”

While Austin Cindric didn’t get a chance to confront Earnhardt Jr this time around, the veteran wasn’t feeling too secure about the prospect of Cindric googling a picture of Blippi. He concluded, “But Cindric is going to come after me, once he gets an understanding of all of this. He’s not gonna be happy.”
