Only a few hours ago, Austin Dillon’s crew chief had delivered some brilliant advice for Kyle Busch and the #8 Cup Series team to bring home a win at Texas. And it turns out, the RCR star didn’t have to wait until Sunday to put those words of encouragement to good use!

Kyle Busch finds himself in victory lane once again this Truck Series season for Spire Motorsports, repeating his Atlanta success this weekend at Texas. Coming into this weekend with high hopes to rejuvenate some of that beloved Rowdy Busch fire, the #7 Spire Motorsports driver fought tooth and nail with rising stars Christian Eckes, Nick Sanchez, and Corey Heim. Ultimately, his experience paid off, as the veteran came out on top to bag his 66th career victory.

Despite Corey Heim’s heroic effort, Kyle Busch takes home another Truck Series win

Rowdy also swept all stages and won a race together for the eighth time in his Truck Series career, which makes up nearly a third of the 25 instances of such dominance in the Truck Series. This marks Kyle Busch’s sixth win at Texas Motor Speedway in Trucks, and was perhaps one of the cooler, as Michael Waltrip rightfully stated. That said, Kyle Busch was delighted to have been able to bring glory to not just Spire but also his sponsor, Real Tree.

Kyle Busch shared post-race, Great team, everybody here at Spire, appreciates everybody who was able to work so hard to prepare a really fast Real Tree Silverado, so thanks to team Chevy, thanks to Real Tree, their first NASCAR win so Mr. Jordan’s at home, I know Tyler’s here so exciting to have those guys with us and gonna go celebrate in victory lane and carry these bright colors there. I told them I wanted to do it for them, so I’m glad I could.”

Looking back on Waltrip’s comment on his result, Kyle Busch believed there had definitely been cooler wins in his catalog, but the Truck Series rookies sure gave him a run for his money. Out of all the drivers piling on the pressure, Corey Heim troubled the veteran the most. Busch looked back on their tussle and shared his moment of concern as Heim appeared to close the gap with better tires nearing the end.

He shared, “Corey kept us honest right there, he started to find the top over there and gained some momentum over there. I tried him with three to go and I shattered really bad so my front just wasn’t working there. I needed more laps on my tires to get up there and make that work, but he made it.”

As the checkered flag flew, Busch crossed the line just 0.112 seconds ahead of Corey Heim, talking about another photo-finish within a few races. He concluded, “Got (Heim) to my rear bumper, getting into three, and I kind of was like, ‘I don’t know which way to go!’ so I ran the middle and down the middle, and then he slipped up top, so I guess we had enough of a gap after that.”
