Is the Kyle Busch contract saga finally coming to an end? In the pre-race interview with the #18 driver at Kansas Speedway, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver talked about his probable future with Richard Childress Racing in the 2023 season.

A physical altercation between Busch with the owner of RCR, Richard Childress took place about a decade ago following a Truck Series race at exactly the same Speedway where he gave the interview.

According to reports, the then 65-year-old owner, Childress, approached Busch after the race in the garage area and punched him several times after placing him in a headlock.

In a recent interview at Kansas, Jeff Gluck, the interviewer asked, “How did you even get to the point with Childress where you could consider driving for him after the moment here 11 years ago, the hold my watch thing, like how did you guys get to the point where you could even be civil, I guess?

To which Busch responded, “Who’s to say he hasn’t punched me again?”

“In any of these conversations, whenever you go into negotiations, it’s never fun. So you’re duking the whole time. So yeah, no. I think you grow up and you work through things and you talk it over, really. It was fine the first time I sat down with him, everything was okay and biggest thing about it was just having the opportunity to kind of put that behind us.”

#18 driver also added, “No different thing than going on the Dale Jr download and talking about 2008 and crashing at Richmond. So just, you get through it and you talk about it and life moves on.
