NASCAR’s 2023 season has been anything but predictable. And for Kyle Busch, the journey with his new team, Richard Childress Racing, has been a rollercoaster ride. As we reached the Texas Motor Speedway, the outlook was uncertain for the two-time Cup Series champion. And the worst came to pass when he lost the car’s rear end and ended up hitting hard against the wall.

However, his drive back to the pit road was the stuff of legends. He drove all the way around the mile-and-a-half Texas racetrack in reverse, showing his prowess behind the wheel. However, the same can’t be said about Joey Logano‘s incident at Pocono earlier this year.

Kyle Busch’s day in Texas took an unexpected turn when his car suffered a setback at turn 2. As his car spun and hit the wall, Busch found himself facing an unusual challenge. However, in a display of remarkable skill, he did the unexpected as he usually does. He drove the car backward all the way back to the pit road. It was a moment that left many in awe of his crafty reverse driving.

This incident brought to light the contrast between Kyle Busch’s cool-headed reverse maneuver and Joey Logano’s past mishap at Pocono.

Logano’s day at Pocono took a sour turn when he got into an accident and needed assistance from the NASCAR safety team. What made it memorable was the live microphone capturing Logano’s frustration as he shouted at the safety team to tow his car back to the pit road.

During the recent episode of ‘Rubbin is Racing,’ show co-hosts Large and Spider highlighted the stark contrast between Logano’s and Busch’s experiences.

Large said, “I know that Kyle Busch is now on the verge of being eliminated and all that. But I almost want to give him an over just to see Kyle Busch, you know, basically going around the whole Speedway in Reverse again.”

“I think that it’s just so fu***ng awesome.”

This led their guest Chase Briscoe to chime in and say, “He makes a show of himself going back to Pit Road… like he always does something weird getting back to Pit Road.”

Large, then continued, “I think Logano is legitimately embarrassed that he had the live mic on when they had to come out to tow him. I think it was at Kansas, but man, when Kyle Busch has something go wrong with them, it’s always something that you got to keep your fu***ng eyes on.”

Kyle Busch recently made headlines by selling his entire truck series team, Kyle Busch Motorsports, to Spire Motorsports. This decision raised questions, but it might not have been as complicated for Busch as it seemed.

Over the years, Kyle Busch had built KBM from the ground up, achieving notable success, including two Truck Series championships in 2015 and 2017. There were even speculations about his son, Brexton, following in his footsteps and racing for KBM one day. Knowing this, the sale of KBM to Spire Motorsports was significant. But it’s possible that the process was smoother than expected. The connection between Busch and Spire owner Jeff Dickerson played a pivotal role. Dickerson had previously served as Busch’s agent and spotter during the early stages of Busch’s NASCAR Cup Series career.

According to Fox, Kyle Busch expressed confidence in the transition, stating, “I’m confident that our assets and employees are in good hands moving forward. I don’t see the winning ways changing at all.” He emphasized that he was at a different point in his life and career than when he started KBM.

“It’ll be hard to walk away from the amazing facility that we’ve built,” he added. “I’ll miss walking the shop floor, talking with our employees, hosting our fan days in the lobby, and spending countless hours there ensuring its success. However, I know at this point in my life and in my career that this is the correct decision.”

With this acquisition, Spire Motorsports plans to field three full-time trucks in the upcoming Truck Series season. This move solidifies their presence in the Truck Series and continues their tradition of developing drivers for the future.
