Kyle Larson’s Former Teammate Believes Ross Chastain Went from Hero to Zero as Chase Elliott Was Left Unsure of Whom to Blame

The final race at Phoenix Motor Speedway was quite an odd one. There was a whole hoard of emotions on Sunday. But Chase Elliott fans were left rather sad and quite angry after he made contact with Ross Chastain in the race, resulting in Elliott’s wreck. Unfortunately, the Hendrick Motorsports driver fell to 30th and never really recovered.

But Kyle Larson’s former teammate knows where to point the finger.

In a recent episode of Door, Bumper, Clear! Kyle Larson’s former teammate at Chip Ganassi Racing, Jamie McMurray talked about the incident.

The first point they talked about was Elliott now saying anything about the incident after the race. But McMurray defended the 2020 Cup Series Champion.

He said, “The reason Chase didn’t answer is that I don’t think he knows. I think he’s like, I need to go back and watch. I need to go back and watch the in-car. And when you’re standing on pit Road and they show you the replay, you’re kind of looking at it. But you’re also there’s a lot going on.”

Larson’s former teammate then made fun of the watermelon man completely losing all his fans. “Ross went from like, the Penthouse to the Bowhouse. I’m like, man, this guy was a rockstar ast weekend. Any anyone he gave, he totally lost him in one move at Phoenix. But I don’t think Chase knew who was in the right or wrong there, because I think depending on which side of the team you’re on, you could have seen it either way.”‘

Kyle Larson’s former teammate said Ross Chastain doesn’t give a damn about anything, as he condemned his aggressive move

The question still remains, who was at fault? Well, according to Larson’s former teammate, it was all Chastain.

He explained, “I think Chase was being like a little cautious, not turning down, but below the start-finish line too early. And Ross doesn’t give a damn about anything, it’s like there’s no rules for him. So to me, I think it was too aggressive.”
