While there’s been a plethora of changes and announcements for in drivers’ professional lives has kept fans on their toes, their personal lives have also been a major topic of conversation as love blossomed from all corners of the community. Starting with Denny Hamlin proposing to his longtime girlfriend and the mother of his children, Jordan Fish, to now another NASCAR icon, who has wooed the Dirt Racing world for years, finally tying the knot, the community couldn’t be happier!

This time around, it is Rico Abreu, the 2014 USAC National Midget Series champion, who took the sacred vow of marriage with his long-time girlfriend of over a decade, Meagan Droud. Together, the pair have travelled across the United States visiting various dirt tracks, with the two creating quite the dynamic duo. So when Rico Abreu finally revealed the good news to the community on X, it was all butterflies and rainbows!

Droud and Abreu have become the poster power couple over the years, with Abreu taking on the world of dirt racing as a driver and Droud handling and managing the merchandise side of the business. And naturally, the two lover’s families also get along great, as the Abreu’s wineries are a favourite spot for the pair’s vacation getaways.

During race weekends, Meagan Droud would assist The Rico Shop gain momentum by selling merchandise through a van parked at the circuit. Her Instagram also suggests that she runs and manages the business and marketing side of things for Rico Abreu’s merch store. When she isn’t helping out with the business, Droud can be seen eagerly cheering on Abreu at the track.

While the pair don’t have any children, they adopted an adorable dog in 2020 and named it ‘Gus’. And over the years, Gus has become somewhat of a celebrity himself, with the Abreu fandom showering him with love all over social media. The pair also bonded over this period by training Gus to be on his best behaviour. And as the bond kept growing in front of fans’ eyes, they couldn’t help but wonder when Abreu would pop the big question.

Rico Abreu took to X to share endearing photos of him and Droud all dressed up for the big occasion. But perhaps the biggest highlight of it all was Gus wearing a stunning suit! Either way, the well wishes began pouring in with Dale Earnhardt Jr’s sister, Kelley Earnhardt Miller, exclaiming, “Congrats!” While others also joined in, “Congratulations, Rico and Meagan (and Gus)!”

While the pair already have a long history spanning a decade together, the future seems brighter than ever! Fans continued to shower their blessing on the couple, “Best wishes for many years of happiness.” And “Aww 🥰 congrats friends!” Others were relieved to hear that Abreu had finally made the big move! A user stated, “Hey Congrats!!! Been wondering when this might happen!! Best Wishes!!! 👍“

Another member of the community perfectly summed up Abreu’s delight, “Congratulations, Rico! You deserve the best that life can give you. With a good wife, a good dog, a sprint car, and Ricky, you’ve got the best.
