Mobil 1 has expanded its reach and presence across various disciplines of motorsports for the year 2024. The motor oil giant has announced a mega deal with Toyota Racing Development (TRD) that will see the Mobil 1’s logo featured on the racing suits of several drivers in NASCAR and other notable motorsports series.

The new partnership will see Mobil 1 continue on its model to feature in the NASCAR Cup Series races. This partnership covers three prominent Cup Series teams, Joe Gibbs Racing, 23XI Racing, and the newest addition to the family, Legacy Motor Club. The drivers donning the Mobil 1 colors for the 2024 season are Christopher Bell, Tyler Reddick, Bubba Wallace, and John Hunter Nemechek. For Nemechek, the deal is not new as he was sponsored by Mobil 1 for 12 races in the Xfinity Series.

In the NASCAR Series, Mobil 1 will serve as the sponsor for JGR #20 in three races starting from the Busch Light Clash on Feb 4. It will also serve as a sponsor for 23XI’s Tyler Reddick at Phoenix and Richmond. Coming to Bubba Wallace, he will be wearing Mobil 1 colors at the Circuit of the Americas race.

According to a report by Forbes, Toyota was honored to extend this integral partnership that has brought them success over the years. David Wilson, president of TRD USA, said in a statement, “TRD’s technical partnership with Mobil 1 has been integral to Toyota’s on-track performance and success over the past 20-plus years. As we begin another exciting racing season in 2024, we are honored to expand our partnership with Mobil 1.”

Sharing the same passion for racing, Mobil 1 was also proud of their new partnership. Rob Shearer, director of global sponsorships and marketing services at Mobil 1 said, “Toyota Racing Development shares the same passion for performance as we do and, together, we will work to continue to show how the right motor oil can improve on-track performance and provide longevity for consumers’ vehicles. We are proud to compete in many different series and cheer on our racers all season long,”

This deal will also see Truck series driver Taylor Gray in Mobil 1 color for the entire 2024 season. The list of sponsored athletes also includes Brent Crews and Isabella Robusto of ARCA Menards Series and late-model racing, Buddy Kofoid of World of Outlaws alongside a few other names.

It was surprising for the fans to see the brand not having any sponsorship deals with SHR drivers.

Mobil 1 had a partnership with Stewart-Haas Racing’s #4 Kevin Harvick over the years. The motor oil lubricant company was even their primary sponsor in seven races during the 2023 Cup Series season. However, with the veteran driver called time on his racing career, some of the major sponsors went on to knock on other doors in search of better prospects. This, however, is not the case here, as fans thought Mobil 1 abandoned SHR after their torrid 2023 season, the brand itself came to clarify.

The sponsors that really left SHR are Busch Light, Gearwrench, Go Bowling, Hunt Brothers Pizza, Magical Vacation Planner, Pristine Auction, Rheem, and Smithfield. Seems like a long list and an even bigger loss for Tony Stewart and Gene Haas. But still, looking at their 2023 season, things should only get better.
