The big wreck in Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway made the headlines. The race had two major crashes and the Joe Gibbs Racing driver, Denny Hamlin, was a victim in one of them.

With only 23 laps to go,  the #11 driver got involved in a wreck with a pack of cars while battling for a better position. Due to this, the co-owner of the 23XI Racing team got soreness in his neck which has lasted until now.

Because of this incident, Hamlin even had to sit out for the Xfinity event at Darlington Raceway. Although, he took part in the Cup Series Playoffs in Darlington the next day.

In a report, the JGR driver said, “I have had some soreness in my neck, back, and hips from the wreck on Sunday,”

Hamlin also added, “I feel like the right thing for me to do is to sit out the Xfinity Series race and put 100 percent of my focus on getting ready for this weekend’s Cup Series playoff race.
