NASCAR Fans Ignite “Dark Brandon Rises” Trend After President Biden is Hailed for $18 Million North Wilkesboro Revival

NASCAR is back at the North Wilkesboro Speedway! And this return to the historic track is signed off by President Joe Biden. The project of revitalizing of the asphalt tracks is in motion and the speedway will host the 2023 All-Star Race in May next year.

From the time it opened up for NASCAR in 1949, the 0.625-mile track has hosted around 93 Cup Series races. However, around 1996, the track lost its Cup Series dates. Since NASCAR decided to make the predominantly Southeastern sport a national affair, the North Wilkesboro spot was shifted to Texas.

After multiple failed attempts to revive the raceway, NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr along with others cleared the abandoned track in December 2019. Earnhardt Jr scanned the track for a virtual iRacing race that was held during the pandemic in 2020. However, the reconstruction of the asphalt tracks was still dependent on the accessibility of funds.

And to everyone’s surprise, the funding soon came in the form of an American Rescue Plan (ARP) that was passed by the Democrats in Congress. The ARP was signed by President Joe Biden in 2021 and the North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper allocated $18 million in funds.

The state budget allocated towards the rehabilitation of Wilkesboro Speedway turned out be a piece of pleasant news for all the NASCAR fans.

And when the official Twitter handle of the North Wilkesboro Speedway announced that they were hosting the 2023 Cup Series races, NASCAR enthusiasts went into a frenzy.

They left comments thanking the President for revitalizing the historic track. And the reference to the “Let’s Go Brandon” chant was particularly fun and interesting.

Ecstatic about the news, NASCAR also shared the news of the historic return of the Wilkesboro Speedway. And a flurry of thankful comments ensued in the post.

The tracks recently hosted a Window World 125 CARS Tour event and semi-retired NASCAR Cup Series driver Dale Earnhardt Jr also raced in the event.

The North Wilkesboro audience was already sold on Dale Earnhardt Jr. And fans couldn’t get enough of their hero who played a major role in reviving the Raceway. Although JR Motorsports’ Carson Kvapil won the race, Earnhardt Jr still stole the limelight.

During the race, Earnhardt’s Chevrolet got caught between Jared Fryar and Mini Tyrell and sustained damage due to the wreck. He lost a lot of time while getting his car fixed. But during the last 37 laps, he put in an exciting show for all his fans.
