With 16 caution flags, the race week at Charlotte Motor Speedway finally comes to a close in what can be termed one of the most chaotic races of the season. In the season’s longest race, the drivers not only paid their homage to fallen heroes of the country but also witnessed the victory of a deserving driver, Ryan Blaney.

Ending his 59 races of winless drought, Ryan Blaney brings the much-needed respite to Ford as well as Team Penske who were clearly overjoyed by the double win, one in the Indy 500 with Josef Newgarden and the other being the Coca-Cola 600.

But the NASCAR community was clearly preoccupied with the other incident that occurred at Lap 182 and clearly overshadowed the victory celebration of the new victor.

The wreck between Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliott is surely the talk of the town and will only simmer down once a proper conclusion is reached by the governing authorities.

Denny Hamlin Dumps Chase Elliott’s ‘Unfortunate Incidents’ Through Proof

Admittedly, the 2023 Cup Series season has been a disappointing one for the most popular driver of the grid. He had already missed out six races of the season, after suffering from a broken tibia due to a snowboarding incident. Although Elliott returned behind the wheel, in the highest of spirits, the joy was short-lived for the star driver as he embroiled himself in one of the controversies on Monday’s Coke 600 race.

The issue at hand was whether the 2020 Cup Series winner had deliberately spun the defending Coca-Cola 600 driver after veering to his left and hooking Hamlin’s right rear. After disembarking from his car, Denny Hamlin, in his post-race lashed out at the Hendrick Motorsports driver. He exclaimed, “It’s a tantrum and he shouldn’t be racing next week. Right rear hooks are absolutely unacceptable.”

Chase Elliott, who had also retired from the race, termed the incident as “unfortunate circumstances.” But the veteran driver was far from being convinced by the reply. Rather, he seized the opportunity and brought forward the data from the in-car charts, to expose Elliott’s intentions. He also tweeted, “Absolute left hook. Cranked the wheel 4X harder left than he did making any corner through the whole day. Bullsh*t move.”

But among all these debates and discussions it is Mike Joy, the broadcaster for FOX who is of late gaining the most attention. During the broadcast, he stated that perhaps, it was due to Brad Keselowski of RFK Racing, having made contact with the HMS driver, which led to the on-track debacle.

Even Jeff Gluck, the NASCAR reporter, posted this so-called accusation on his Twitter profile, I can’t believe some of my replies. Well, actually I can. People claiming Keselowski hit Elliott and wrecked him into Hamlin.”

But the NASCAR fans did not sit idle and pointed out that the allegations that do not hold any base and lashed out at the broadcaster.

One netizen wrote, Joy was defending Elliot instantly. NASCAR and Nascar media are such homers for Chase Larson HMS. My god it’s like cable news. It was obvious what chase did and instant “Chase is god he would never do something wrong” defense from Mike Joy’s mouth. Embarrassing!”

“Mike Joy tied that but has to back down.”

“Hell even the fox booth is trying to cover for Elliot just look at what joy said they are supposed to be impartial”

While others wrote, “Mike Joy gave them that conspiracy theory on the broadcast trying to protect Chase”

“You could thank the wonderful fox booth for that.”

“9 fans are the worst lol”

It seems that the NASCAR fans are in for another week of controversies, as they eagerly wait to know how the whole wreck incident unfurls and what decision is taken by the governing body. Will Chase Elliott will be suspended for a race or will it be termed as just another on-track wreckage? Till then the fans are left to their own contemplation.
