It was all smiles and laughter in front of the 23XI Racing‘s hauler on the track of Daytona. Emotions were soaring high, as the team was finally able to put two of its drivers in the playoffs. The team which is still in its formative years was able to deliver an impeccable result and stand at par with the championship-winning teams of NASCAR.

The regular-season finale assuredly delivered the twists and intrigues of one of the most unexpected seasons of the NASCAR Cup Series. While it was RFK Racing’s Chris Buescher who notched his third victory of the season, it was Bubba Wallace who was elated and rejoiced in the victory of the Ford driver. The reason: it confirmed Wallace’s seat in the postseason. Owing to this, Wallace’s team owner and NBA legend Michael Jordan was seen sharing his emotions with the driver.

Very few drivers like Bubba Wallace faced the building-up of intense pressure in his mind, as he walked on eggshells. The #23 driver had one last shot to alter his fate and enter the playoffs for the first time in his Cup Series career. Wallace had two feasible options left; either risk it all and race for the win or make sure that no one below him in the standings gets to be the new winner. The heavens surely listened to the fervent wish of the driver, as Chris Buescher of RFK Racing secured his third victory of the season.
The win by the Ford driver ensured Bubba Wallace’s entry into the postseason, through the virtue of points after he occupied the 16th and the final berth above the cutline. Nevertheless, with the race continuing for overtime, after the harrowing crash of Ryan Preece, Bubba Wallace was finally able to heave a sigh of relief after the RFK Racing prodigy took the chequered.

After the drivers returned to their pit lanes and exited their cars, it was Wallace’s team owner and NBA legend Michael Jordan and his 16-years-younger wife who congratulated Wallace for his achievement. The NBA legend was beaming with smile and laughter as his emotions broke all bounds. He also made sure that all the other teammates received their due credits as Jordan shook hands and gave a warm hug to them.
