Being a two-time ARCA Menard Series West champion and having a whopping 6 USAC titles under his belt, Jesse Love’s impressive roster proves that he’s no stranger to dirt tracks. And if his Chili Bowl run this year is anything to go by, he’s no stranger to wrecks either.

Love was drifting on the top corner during Thursday’s race and was significantly far from Dylan Menz. So, naturally, he didn’t expect a contact. But unfortunately, a nudge from Menz’s 08M sent Love crashing into the outside wall and flip, leading to a frustrating wind-up of the B-Main Thursday night. The crash was pretty horrific, resulting in oil seeping out of Love’s car.

Moments after Love’s Thursday night helplessly ended, a Frontstretch reporter approached the 18-year-old motorsports prodigy and asked for his verdict, “What happened from your perspective?”

The #84 car driver’s face evidently portrayed suppressing frustration as he answered the reporter and said, I don’t know. Got the jump on the start, slid in myself, and figured the top would be better, but either way, my momentum built up eventually and went up the top in [turn] 3 and 4.”

The RCR driver had more to add about his miserable day, following which he unraveled how he initially got into the wreck “It’s not my main side. Obviously I was having momentum off the corner, and felt fine about it and he just came up. Met the wall on the back of the frontstretch once. I was bent like tha.t I knew it wasn’t pretty good. Now we’re destroyed, and now we’re going to be back of the ‘B’ or whatever it is.”

Just like a single action can have a multitude of effects, Love’s crash, too, has formed ripples of screwed-up luck. His shattered confidence during the interview revealed how the young speedster isn’t hopeful of a fruitful outcome anymore.

Even though the RCR Xfinity star’s run ended due to a wreck, his performance was nothing short of extraordinary, as his mighty speed all over the dirt track spoke for itself. But that fell shy of prepping up the driver.

After Love’s emotional admission of the saddening Tulsa outing, the reporter commended his speed on the track and asked, “You showed a lot of speed, how does it change your outlook for Saturday?”

Despite an impressive display, Love’s words showcased nothing else but a shattered Chili Bowl future as he aptly puts it forth, “It completely screws it up, we’re not going to lock in. I don’t think, just not how I wanted to go. E race went okay and that qualifying didn’t turn out well so sucks he did it, but it’s part of the expense sometimes.”
