Dale Earnhardt Jr and his contributions have been pivotal in the restoration of a dilapidated track. Now that same track is going to host the All-Star Race next year, after spending almost three decades out of the calendar. After everything that went by, Junior recently shared a video of the nearly finished renovation work of the track and stated that none of this felt real.

Junior stated, “This still doesn’t feel real. Even feels like the Late Model Stock @CARSTour race this year was only a dream. Can’t wait….”

Earnhardt Jr was one of the key people behind the revival of the iconic North Wilkesboro Speedway. He even went on to host a late-model stock car race at the iconic track. Even after all of this, Earnhardt Jr. remains amazed and in disbelief that they pulled off such a thing.

With tickets scheduled to go on sale to the public on 2nd November, the three-day All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro is sure to attract plenty of NASCAR faithful.

Fans drove straight down memory lane as they recalled the past and NASCAR’s racing roots. They appreciated Dale Earnhardt Jr’s efforts in getting this short track back up and running. Since he was the one who made it all happen, some even suggested that Junior should run in the All-Star Race.

NASCAR returning to its roots and back to short tracks is something that fans would truly appreciate. Over time, since the revival of North Wilkesboro, many have also asked Earnhardt Jr if he can revive a few other once sprawling but now nearly lost track and bring them back to life. Even if NASCAR does not choose to return to such a historic track, there are certainly quite a few other series around that could make use of such an initiative. Moreover, if NASCAR wants to capitalize on this, it may have to look for more ways to bring back its old fans, who brought the sport to life in the past decades.
