Tony Stewart issues a stern caution to Kenny Wallace ahead of the second race of SRX Racing
The month of July is indeed hectic for many Cup Series drivers, as they juggle between their Cup Series commitments and also racing in other formats, like SRX Racing. The relaunch of ‘Thursday Night Thunder’ is surely captivating the hearts of motorsport enthusiasts as both former and active drivers try to fight for victory. The opening race of the series was won by Denny Hamlin, while in the second race of the season, it was Ryan Newman.
Furthermore, in the second race at Stafford, fans also witnessed Kenny Wallace taking his seat behind the wheel, but before he started his engine, it seems that he was issued a caution by Tony Stewart, one of the founding members of the series.
In the pre-race interview, Wallace spilled the beans and expressed, “I had a good time. I was instructed not to don’t do any b**ching. It is what it is. I am like my car, in my mind, I am like, ‘Oh, my car is doing this, the seat-okay I got it’, so it was all a learning curve, five laps.”

“And it kind of reminds me of dirt racing a little bit, where Tony Cannon and Paul Tracy, they said how much practice you getting those dirt cars. I said we are lucky if we get three laps. So that was too much practice. I just found out I need to work on my seat and steering wheel,” concluded Wallace.

The victor of the Stafford race struggled to exit his car after the race
Nonetheless, Kenny Wallace, who was sponsored by JEGS, which is also the official partner, finished the race in 9th position. It was Ryan Newman, who is also the defending victor on the tracks of Stafford from last year’s series, who took the second victory of the series home.
After defending his title and struggling to exit the car, Newman expressed to Racing America, “No, it was tough. Those guys set a pretty good pace at the start there. My fat b*tt forgot to open the door to get out.”

“So proud of this opportunity and everybody’s effort to give everybody equal cars. we kept ours — kept easy on the brakes at the start of the race. Maybe that was the difference. Those guys ran pretty hard, I saw the rotors glowing,” added Newman.
On the other hand, Tony Stewart, one of the founders of the series, had won the first heat but finished seventh in the main event, ahead of Hailie Deegan.
With Newman winning the race, he takes the lead in the points table and is a step ahead of the previous year’s champion, Marco Andretti. For the next race, the drivers move to Motor Mile Speedway on July 27th.
