Recently, iRacing president Steve Myers narrated a story that involved former NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. Around three years prior, he and the ex-Hendrick Motorsports driver gathered at an abandoned race track. Together, they were picking weeds in cold and rainy weather. Since then, a lot of things have changed for Myers in his personal and professional life.
As it happened, Myers lost nearly 50 pounds, and the North Wilkesboro Speedway will be back in NASCAR in 2023. Dale Jr replied to his tweet, suggesting that Myers’ own efforts resulted in the weight loss. In addition to that, the former driver declared that Myers had a ‘Midas Touch’.

How did NASCAR fans react to the Dale Earnhardt Jr revelation?
Of course, there were some jokes about ‘messing with weed’. Others shared their own stories of losing weight. However, they did confess that spending time with Dale Jr. would be a lot cooler, especially when reviving a classic race track. There were even people who were hoping that their favorite race tracks received the North Wilkesboro treatment.

One thing is for sure, people cannot wait to see the Cup cars in action at North Wilkesboro. Some fans even joked that when Dale Earnhardt Jr asks someone for a favor, saying no is not an option. People even thanked the former NASCAR star for spearheading the restoration of the North Wilkesboro Speedway.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will now be a little nervous as the speedway’s grand return to NASCAR approaches. Although he has done all that he can to restore the track and make fans’ wildest dreams come true, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. If the iconic NASCAR oval can provide some great racing, Dale Jr will be vindicated. Additionally, it will ensure that the track stays on the calendar in the long run.
