“Quit Crying” – Dale Jr’s Disgruntled Star Not an “Angel”, Claim Veteran Insiders as They Defend JGR’s Xfinity Attack

JR Motorsports had a good day at the Martinsville Speedway and Dale Earnhardt Jr must have been a happy man. With four JRM cars finishing in the top 10, even the majority of the drivers seemed to be showcasing that same emotion, except for one. Dale Jr’s prodigy, Sam Mayer, finished P2, which is a great result, but revealed how he believes he would have won the race had it not been for Sheldon Creed. However, the guys over at Door Bumper Clear didn’t quite agree and even went as far as to tell him to simply get over it.
Spotter slams Dale Earnhardt Jr’s driver’s complaints about Joe Gibbs Racing
After the overtime restart, Mayer seemed to edging toward the race win, but the Joe Gibbs Racing driver punted him from behind and Aric Almirola took the lead as a result. After the race ended, Dale Earnhardt Jr’s driver let his feelings be known about JGR cars bumping into him every time he was in the lead. However, veteran spotters like Brett Griffin and Freddie Kraft said that it was just short-track racing incidents.

“I think that one thing to think about though is with these drivers these days, they do hold other drivers up, because a lot of times, their cars will get better or these tires don’t fall off and you do get away. Back in the day in Martinsville, if they were lined up behind you and you had a guy beating your rear bumper off, you pulled down, you gave him the outside to clear you, and then you obviously got right back behind him by the corner. You never gave up the preferred line because if you got moved out of the preferred line, you were going to the back. So this is just short track racing man, quit whining, quit crying,” Brett Griffin advised.
And even Bubba Wallace’s spotter, Freddie Kraft, had chimed in with his opinion earlier and stated that Sam Mayer himself was not the cleanest of drivers due to his antics on pit road.

Kraft said that Mayer was not specifically targeted by JGR drivers and that it was just the nature of short-track racing. TJ Majors agreed with his co-host and revealed how he believes that the JR Motorsports driver would have done the same thing had he been in a similar position.
“I have news for Sam. They’re not picking on him because they knocked the **** out of each other as well. He wasn’t a lone wolf. That’s short-track racing. That’s what it’s about. It sucks for Sam obviously but them guys it was just brutal up there. We’ve seen Sam fighting on pit road before so it’s not like he has been some angel in the past…it’s just part of the game,” Kraft said.
