Kyle Busch recalls a crazy fan incident at Richmond
During an episode of the Residency Podcast, they asked Kyle Busch if he’s ever witnessed a fan rushing onto the field after the race as they do after a soccer game.
“A couple of years ago, there was a fan at Richmond who climbed the catch fence and was sitting on top of the catch fence, just watching the cars go by. He was up there for 15-20 laps before anybody even saw him,” Busch recalled.
“And finally…I don’t remember they threw a yellow flag or not in order to go get him down, but I remember…,” he was trying to recall when one of the hosts went, “He was like, ‘I like it up here, it’s a nice view,'” to which the Busch replied, “It was a great view. They hauled his a** off. I’m sure he hasn’t come back,” the Richard Childress Racing driver added.

After Busch revealed the hilarious Richmond incident, one of the hosts remarked how NASCAR fans are “wild”. This was something with which the two-time cup champion agreed.
“They’re passionate, they’re very passionate. They’re passionate about their favorite driver, they’re passionate about their favorite manufacturer, and they’re passionate about sponsors,” he described. “There’s a lot of NASCAR fans that were NASCAR fans that were just M&M’s fans. It didn’t matter who was driving the M&M’s car, they always wanted to follow the M&M’s car.”

Busch then touched upon the legendary fans of the iconic Dale Earnhardt. He also spoke about how they’re still going strong even two decades after that unfortunate day in Daytona.
“Dale Earnhardt forever, right? He’s the Intimidator, he’s always known to be the Man in Black, driving that black GM Goodwrench car, and classic right? People will still die to buy that stuff, like that’s their guy,” Busch described.
