Kevin Harvick leaves Texas pit road in chaos

Whether it is the pizza or on-track altercations between two veteran drivers, Texas has never failed in delivering the perfect doze of entertainment. While there have been a plethora of incidents on the 1.5-mile track, nothing compares to the exchange of punches between Brad Keselowski and Jeff Gordon, and the one who added fuel to the brawl Kevin Harvick.

The incident occurred back in 2014 when Keselowski and Gordon found themselves in a post-race heated argument, that eventually escalated into a scuffle. One of the reasons behind the escalation was when Harvick third-wheeled and slyly pushed Keselowski closer to fuming Gordon. This led to the Hendrick Motorsports driver grabbing Keselowski by his suit.

The stage for the incident was set when both the veterans were entangled in a fierce battle for victory. While Gordon was on the verge of taking the lead during the restart, Keselowski slammed into the HMS driver. This resulted in Gordon cutting his left rear tire and spinning out on the track.

Kevin Harvick lets the cat out of the bag a decade later on the infamous Texas brawl

There have been various incidents in everyone’s life that they are completely ashamed of and wish did not happen. One such incident in the former Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick’s life was playing a role in this brawl.

Speaking to his co-hosts of Harvick’s Happy Hour, Harvick stated the reason behind his act. “There’s more to it than just driving the car, and sometimes you have to try to do different things to re-direct the conversation or put somebody in the fire that’s not in the fire that you’re competing against, and this was a very calculated moment. I thought that we could capitalize on this to really turn the story on somebody else, but it just didn’t look good, but that’s the way it worked out

However, the former SHR driver stated that it was not something that he would be advising anyone to do. Harvick asserted, “That was one of those calculations that I would recalculate today, not advise you to be the one that does that, but it wound up changing the direction of the conversation. We went all the way to the championship four that year and put ourselves in position to win a championship.”

This might have resulted in a bitter aftertaste between the drivers, nonetheless, it remains one of the iconic incidents of NASCAR.
