Rodney Childers shares his frustration after a clueless and disappointing finish at Bristol
As the first playoff elimination race unfolded at Bristol, Kevin Harvick’s dream of a fairytale final season took an unexpected turn. A dismal P29 finish marked the end of his playoff journey. Leaving fans in shock, Kevin Harvick was the lone representative from the Tony Stewart-owned outfit in this year’s playoffs, highlighting a challenging season for the team.
Heading into the race, Harvick had a 7-point cushion above the playoff cutoff. However, the challenging Bristol race, combined with stiff competition, led to Harvick’s untimely exit. Alongside Ricky Stenhouse Jr, Michael McDowell, and defending champion Joey Logano, Harvick joined the list of drivers who saw their playoff hopes dashed.
“Most disappointing night I?ve ever had at BMS. My team runs a tight ship, and we normally get the most out of what we have every week. No idea what was wrong tonight. To have one of the very best cars last year and come back with the same setup and be terrible is beyond? me.“Rodney Childers tweeted post-race.
