After the whirlwind of drama and debates that swirled around the showdown in Phoenix, one would think teams might steer clear of the Truck series. But, surprisingly, that’s not how the cookie crumbled. Despite the turbulence, Faction46 has boldly stepped into the fray, marking a new chapter in the series. Eric Estep shed light on Faction46, the new Chevy team making waves in the racing world. Co-owned by Lane Moore and Logan Moore, this team is gearing up to race the No. 46 Chevrolet Silverado RST, with a robust technical alliance with Niece Motorsports. AE Engine is also in the mix, adding more horsepower to the team’s efforts.

Lane Moore, who recently backed Veer Motorsports in the ARCA Menards Series, is now shifting gears to the Craftsman Truck Series with Faction46. Chatting with Eric Estepp on the Out of the Groove YouTube show, Moore shared his drive for diving into team ownership. When probed about what prompted him to have a team in NASCAR and not any other motorsport, he said, “I love racing, I have loved racing all my life. Whether it’s racing myself or helping others get to the track it’s been something that has been a passion of mine. The idea of starting a team has been on the back of my mind for a long time. So, this year, parts and pieces just kind of fell together and now we are here.”

Moore also spilled the beans on the origin of the name ‘Faction46’. “Faction, you know, it’s just a cool word. Every team should have a cool word, right? The “46”, it has got a couple of different meanings. The first is that it represents the 46 states of the union in Oklahoma which is where I raised my family, we have had our businesses there. So, it seemed fitting to have it in Oklahoma represented in the name. Besides, the second meaning is a little touchier, we’ll have to talk about that in a different show.” He didn’t forget to tip his hat to Niece Motorsports, admitting that building the trucks would’ve been a pipe dream without their help.
