Apparently, one of the biggest traditions in NASCAR has to do with a champions’ journal. Nobody knows what exactly is written in that journal, as it is for champions’ eyes only. With Chase Elliott as the reigning champion, it fell on Kyle Busch to do the same thing for the Hendrick Motorsports driver.
Apparently, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver had a lot to say about the 25-year-old. It got to a point where he simply ‘ran out of space’ otherwise he could have written tons of material praising Elliott.

“I guess I just was kind of explaining like, ‘Hey, this is new territory for you, but this is a territory where you can not necessarily change the sport or change the world, but man, just live it up and enjoy it and know that you’re Chase Elliott and now that you’re a champion, you’ve made it in this sport,” Busch said.

On a more serious note, Kyle Busch marveled at Chase Elliott’s growth. The Joe Gibbs racer admired the fact that even though Elliott is still so young, he has the ability to go toe-to-toe with drivers who are much older and more experienced than him.

The 35-year-old Joe Gibbs racer acknowledged Chase’s roots, especially with a famous father. In fact, his father Bill Elliott was good friends with the late Dale (Earnhardt) Sr. Obviously, this would have had a lot of influence on the young driver. In addition to that, he also shared a great relationship with Jimmie Johnson right from his youth.
