Recently, NASCAR Race Hub, the stock car racing show on Fox Sports 1, was nominated for a Sports Emmy under the category of ‘Oustanding Studio Show – Daily.’ However, their nomination didn’t sit well with some people.
On a recent episode of the Pat McAfee show, the host and his team went through all the nominees under this category.
While they themselves expressed their disappointment in not being nominated, a member of their team simply said, “NASCAR RACE HUB” the moment when the words, ‘daily studio show’ were mentioned.

“I don’t think we’re ever on this list,” the guest said, something that McAfee himself echoed by furthering the point, “We will never end up on this list.”
Is NASCAR set to leave Fox?
With the current contract up in 2024, there’s a chance that NASCAR might switch to a different network in the new broadcasting deal. For years now, fans have been critical of FOX for their poor coverage that is simply not up to the mark.
But the quality wouldn’t be the only driving factor behind FOX’s farewell should that be the case.

Earlier this year, NASCAR President Steve Phelps had mentioned what they’ll be looking for in their new deal, regardless of whether they stay with the current partner or team up with a new one.
“How we look at the digital world versus over-the-air versus cable, and it really kind of look at it as… the partners that we have today, Fox and NBC look at that world very differently based on, Fox really having Tubi so it’s not really a real direct-to-consumer play as NBC has with Peacock,” Phelps said.

“Our sport [it’s] very important to make sure that we have significant eyeballs. The team model is very dependent on sponsorship so we need to make sure that whatever partner that we would… stay with or move to… we need to make sure that over-the-air is an important part of what that will be.”
What are your thoughts about this year’s Emmy Sports nominations?
