The Charlotte Hornets have drawn notice for their youthful and promising core. The team is currently led by superstars LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller. Recently, there were off-court issues concerning select players. Those problems have raised questions about the franchise’s ability to offer a pleasant atmosphere for its rising stars. A veteran guard from the Knicks has now stood forward to address these issues, emphasizing the need for guidance and leadership among the squad.

Not only that, but Miles Bridges also clapped back at the 31-year-old star for his comments against his team and teammates.

Austin Rivers, an experienced NBA player, has voiced fair concerns about the climate within the Hornets organization. Miles Bridges, who recently had legal troubles relating to domestic abuse, has returned to the team. Not only him even Kai Jones’ unusual conduct on social media has been not looking good for the player. This has caused Rivers to doubt the team’s standards. Because Rivers recognizes it is not LaMelo Ball‘s responsibility to be the lone leader and role model for the youthful core.

Rivers appeared on a podcast and went off about the situation at the Hornets. He said, “Troubled youth, what’s the standard that’s being set there? The whole thing there, it’s not LaMelo’s fault. He just needs help. Surround LaMelo [Ball] around f**king people that can help him tap into his potential, not deplete it”. He urges the club to follow in the footsteps of great organizations such as the Oklahoma City Thunder. They have routinely paired their young players with seasoned veterans to teach them crucial lessons about professionalism and protocol. After hearing these comments, Bridges took it as a personal shot.

He took to social media to address this situation. He wrote, “Y’all hoopers get on these podcasts and talk like y’all really like that. Speaking on other teams like y’all know what’s going on and most the people talking the most s**t don’t play at all. We gone see about all that this year on me”.

Why did Miles Bridges miss a whole season?

Miles Bridges, the promising Hornets player, became involved in a domestic violence incident that resulted in serious consequences. Bridges pleaded not guilty to domestic violence charges after the incident in November 2022, marking a low point in his career. Bridges faced severe charges of beating his partner in front of their two children, which escalated to the point of legal action. The presence of youngsters first resulted in child abuse allegations, which were later dropped. Bridges had to deal with the legal repercussions of his conduct afterward of the event.

Bridges received a three-year probation term but avoided jail time. As part of his sentence, they ordered him to undergo a year of domestic violence therapy and parenting training. The NBA did not take Bridges’ legal problems lightly, suspending him from the league immediately. He faced a 30-game suspension, with the first ten games scheduled for the next season. Bridges’ punishment caused him to miss the whole 2023 season, resulting in a year of wasted opportunity.

Miles Bridges has signed a one-year, $7.9 million contract with the Charlotte Hornets. They gave him a chance for forgiveness both on and off the court as he was looking to rebuild his career and concentrate on personal improvement.
