The preseason is off to a great start. We have already seen some insane transformations, both physically and in terms of game improvements. Teams have found their new star players, of which some will go into the new season with their tested formula. This season is already being dubbed as redemption season for several teams and players. The Brooklyn Nets are definitely seeing themselves on that list.

Ben Simmons has shown his development over the last few months. After putting up an impressive and dominant performance, he has listed himself among the players to watch out for. Additionally, he is going to be further tested as two NBA veterans are set to make a comeback. However, their comeback against the Nets is going to be a bit different.

Simmons had a below-average last season. He underperformed in several aspects of the game, most importantly in scoring. The 27-year-old has a career average of 14.7 points per game. Additionally, he also maintains 7.8 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game. However, his performance last year saw a critical drop.

Simmons could only manage an average of 6.9 points per game. With a star player severely underperforming, the Nets couldn’t get past the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the playoffs. Heading into another year, the Nets look better prepared.

The 3x All-Star had a great game against the Maccabi Ra?anana in their preseason run. Maccabi Ra?anana is an Israeli National League team that is pitted against the Nets. While Simmons and Co. could secure a win there, the road going ahead will get tougher. Additionally, his impressive showcase made the fans believe they are in for a “redemption” season from the youngster. We will find out about that in due time. Meanwhile, two NBA veterans are already lined up as his new challenge.

Two NBA veterans making a comeback

Over the years, the league has generated such depth that you might find an NBA association in every corner of the world. Veterans – Dwyane Bacon and Quinndary Weatherspoon are all set to lock horns against the Nets in this preseason mania. However, they will play for the Maccabi Ra?anana.

As reported by Chris Haynes of TNT and Bleacher Report, the two ex-NBA players are set to join the 3 preseason game stint against the Brooklyn franchise. Additionally, they’ll also be “hoping to sign with NBA team at conclusion” of the series.
