The Golden State Warriors made an unbelievable comeback tonight against the Philadelphia 76ers. Unbelievable because Andrew Wiggins showcased his best performance of the season in tonight’s 127-104 victory. He finished with a team-high 21 points, one assist, and 10 rebounds, getting a double-double in the process.

He’s been the frontrunner for trade since the beginning, with Wiggs being subpar throughout the season. Given the struggles that the Golden State has been having, Wiggins’ subpar performance hasn’t helped in the least. And that’s when tonight happened!

What was even more surprising was Stephen Curry taking a backseat. Logging in 25 minutes, Curry had just nine points, one assist, and three rebounds for the night. It’s almost like Steph just decided to watch his Dubs make the calls and show him that they still have the same fire and passion. And they came through.

Even though Philly is missing Joel Embiid, we have seen the Warriors fall to lesser teams of the season. Although the Sixers started hot, going into the second quarter with a seven-point lead (22-15), it was the Dubs that finished the half with a 48-45 lead. Jonathan Kuminga and Wiggins had set the stage in the first half.

The second half was the Warriors’. The third quarter game saw an explosion, with the majority of scores coming in then (43). Seeing as how it was a sealed deal, Coach Kerr proceeded to rest his starters in the final half of the fourth quarter. But GSW is not out of the woods yet.

Nor is Andrew Wiggins.

Andrew Wiggins continues to be the primary subject of a Dubs trade

Although there seems to be somewhat of a better production from Wiggs of late, it is not enough for the Warriors to reconsider taking him off the table. With the deadline just hours away, the Golden State is actively looking for Andrew Wiggins’ trade options.

Trade Rumors Leave Andrew Wiggins’ Love Undeterred: “I Don’t Worry”

According to Yahoo Sports, league sources have divulged that the Dallas Mavericks and Milwaukee Bucks remain teams that are considering him as a viable option. Wiggins’ four-year $109 million veteran extension is also another factor they have to consider. Particularly, the Bucks.

For them to reach Wiggs’ guaranteed $24.3 million annual salary, Milwaukee would most likely have to deal with Bobby Portis. And packaging Portis for a veteran 3-and-D player that has one of the worst performances, isn’t exactly the most ideal situation.

A better option would be to let Wiggins stay put and hope that he continues to perform like tonight. And if the Warriors are still considering trading him come summer, there might be more buyers for the 28-year-old.

“Not only is there more to life than basketball, there’s a lot more to basketball than basketball” - Jackson had a simple philosophy when he was coaching the Lakers. He wanted everyone to succeed and grow in the service of something bigger than themselves. This is what struck me the most.
