The NBA is arguably the most competitive professional basketball league in the world. So, it is rare for multiple members of the same family to play in it. However, there have been a few father-son and sibling duos in league history to achieve that incredible feat. So, when Jaden McDaniels and Jalen McDaniels took the floor tonight to face each other, many were left wondering if the two McDaniels were related.

Jaden McDaniels from the Minnesota Timberwolves and Jalen McDaniels from the Toronto Raptors are brothers. The siblings have a 2-and-a-half-year age difference, with Jalen being the older brother at 26 years old and Jaden at 23 years old. Despite being the younger sibling, Jaden has had a more successful NBA career so far. While his older brother got drafted 52nd in 2019, Jaden was selected 28th a year later.

Jalen has had a bench role throughout his career. Even this season, Jalen has played in 44 games for the Raptors but got his first start tonight against his brother. He is averaging only 3.1 points and 1.5 rebounds this season. Meanwhile, Jaden has become a key player for the Minnesota Timberwolves in just 4 seasons. He played and started in all 79 games last season, and has stayed in that role this year as well.

From the legendary sibling duo of Pau and Marc Gasol to the Curry Brothers, fans have been fortunate to witness some great sibling rivalries. Here’s a diverse breakdown of the same!

List of Active Siblings in the NBA

Jalen and Jaden McDaniels are not the only sibling duo in the NBA. In fact, the league currently has 13 sets of active siblings. Stephen Curry and Seth Curry are arguably the most famous active sibling duo in the NBA. It is majorly because of the superstardom of Steph. While Steph is still pursuing his 5th Championship, his brother recently followed in his father’s footsteps and started playing for the Charlotte Hornets.

The second active siblings are Milwaukee Bucks stars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Thanasis Antetokounmpo. Despite being brothers, their roles are very different. While Giannis is one of the best players in the league, Thanasis has been a benchwarmer for the majority of his Bucks tenure. Their 3rd sibling, Kostas Antetokounmpo, also played in the NBA and won a Championship with the Lakers in 2020. Other active siblings include:
