If there’s one team that most fans and analysts have put their money into to win the 2024 NBA title, it is the Boston Celtics. The Celtics have raced away with the 1st spot in the Eastern Conference standings, with 52 wins from 66 games. They have looked indomitable during the regular season, becoming the first team to have secured a guaranteed playoff spot this season.

They face the Washington Wizards in their next matchup. However, Celtics fans face an anxious wait, as the availability of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown is still hidden behind dark clouds for tonight’s game against the Wizards. Previously, Jaylen Brown was listed as questionable for the game against Washington due to an ankle injury. However, the final injury report carries a bittersweet message for Boston Celtics fans.

While Brown will be out for the game, Stephen A. Smith’s 2024 MVP Jayson Tatum has received the green flag to play. But while Jayson Tatum could get minutes versus the Wizards, the Celtics would miss the services of several key players. Apart from Jaylen Brown, the Boston Celtics have also ruled out Kristaps Porziņģis for tonight’s game because of a hamstring strain. Moreover, Derrick White would also miss the game, due to a left-hand sprain in Boston’s last match against the Phoenix Suns.

The absence of Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, and Derrick White could be a big blow for the Boston Celtics. However, they still possess enough firepower to dismantle a rebuilding Wizards team that sits dead last in the Eastern Conference standings. Tatum has averaged 27 points, 8.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. But how would the Celtics lineup, with more than three starters sidelined for the game?

The game between the Celtics and the Washington Wizards is scheduled to tip-off by 6:00 PM, Eastern Time at the Capital One Arena in Washington. On paper, this game is about as lopsided as NBA games come. But games aren’t won on paper, and if the Boston Celtics underestimate their opponents, they could be in for a humbling loss. Furthermore, key players like Jaylen Brown, Porzingis, and Derrick White will all miss tonight’s game.
