Heartbreak for the Bucks! They were already devastated heading into tonight’s Pacers clash due to the tragic passing of former player turned team’s minority owner, Junior Bridgeman. So, they desperately needed a win to give the fans something to cheer about. And they were moments away from achieving that goal, sitting on a comfortable three-point lead with less than four seconds remaining. Or so they thought. Unfortunately, Tyrese Haliburton had other plans.
While the Milwaukee team was getting ready to celebrate a win on an emotional night, Haliburton pulled off the ultimate last-second turnaround by hitting a miraculous three from the corner to tie the score. Adding to the Bucks’ misery, the official called a foul on Giannis Antetokounmpo, sending Tyrese to the line for the potential game-winning point.
Sure, the Bucks complained about the call and the refs reviewed the play. However, Scott Foster and his team stood by their original decision of the defensive foul on The Greek Freak “for not allowing the offensive player to land safely.” Yes, replay showed that Giannis might have stepped into Haliburton’s landing space during the shot. As a result, the Pacers star got the free throw and converted it to put his team ahead.

Although Antetokounmpo got a chance to win the game in the final second, he bricked the potential game winner and the night ended with the Bucks losing by one point. This marks their third straight loss. Obviously, Bucks fans were not pleased with the outcome and called out Foster’s questionable decision after the game. One wrote, “Haliburton literally landed out of bounds. Terrible call.”

Well, Haliburton landed hard after the shot as he was fading away from the basket and was completely off balance. But the replay clearly shows that his feet landed inbounds, which nullifies the frustrated fan’s claim. However, they had other evidence to prove the refs’ bad officiating. During another play earlier in the game, Andrew Nembhard was awarded three-points while his foot was clearly on the three-point line during the shot attempt.
What’s your perspective on:
Did the refs rob the Bucks of a win, or was Giannis' foul call justified?

If you want to get mad, get mad at this. Shot was called a 3 on the court pic.twitter.com/8ErPYlQ77Q

“If you want to get mad, get mad at this. Shot was called a 3 on the court.” The fan wrote, posting the replay of the refs’ mistake on X. And it didn’t end there!
NBA World blames Refs for “Bailing Out” Pacers but also hold the Bucks Accountable for Loss
With multiple instances of controversial officiating coming to light, calls began mounting against the refs, with comments like “Milwaukee would’ve never gotten that call btw…. garbage a—refs” and “The refs were bailing out the Pacers all game.” Well, its natural for fans to feel frustrated after a brutal loss, but there is not enough evidence to prove that Foster’s decision on the final play was wrong.

So, some fans accepted the harsh reality and shifted the blame to Giannis instead, “You’re up 3 let him shoot that it’s gliding shot and what did Giannis do? Close him out. Terrible.” Yes, had The Greek Freak not closed in on Haliburton during the shot, we might not be having this discussion. It was already a difficult shot for the Pacers star falling away from the basket and there was no need for Giannis to risk a penalty by contesting it so closely.

Meanwhile, another netizen called out the Bucks’ disappointing performance, “Still would have lost in OT tho… Bucks ain’t serious idk what you watching.” Even if the foul had been rescinded, the score would still have been tied and the game would likely have gone to overtime.
And some fans believe the Bucks would have lost either way. Well, they did not play up to the mark tonight and should not have let the game come to this situation in the first place. Hopefully, they will bounce back from this loss soon and come more prepared for Thursday’s Lakers clash. Who do you think should be blamed for the Bucks’ loss?
