Morant boomed into superstardom right from the beginning of his NBA career because of his insane athleticism and basketball skills. Ja became the pillar of the Memphis Grizzlies organization after he proved that he does not shy away from big moments. Unfortunately, Ja’s off-court antics led him into a world of trouble. He got suspended by the NBA for the first 25 games of the 2023-24 season for detrimental conduct to the league.

Ja Morant made a cryptic claim on X that left his fans concerned for him – “it’s a different story for me, it seems I got everything dat I ever dreamed but I can’t find no peace.”

The 24-year-old signed a 5-year $197 million supermax extension with the Grizzlies last summer, and he is set to earn $21.4 million more than what he earned last season. But all this money has not brought peace in the life of the Grizzlies superstar. He got suspended by the NBA for 25 games after a video of him holding a firearm inside a car surfaced on social media.

The severity of the punishment was because this was not the first time Ja Morant had committed an act like this. He did the same thing a few months prior to the incident, leaving the fans concerned about his wellbeing.

The suspension will cost Ja a whopping $7.6 million from his salary.

Ja Morant will not play the first 25 games of the 2023-24 NBA season. The Grizzlies fans want their superstar to return soon so that they can make a run for the Championship. Memphis added veteran leaders Marcus Smart and Derrick Rose to their roster this off-season, and they will provide some much-needed guidance to the young Memphis squad.

Apart from leadership, Smart can become the defensive anchor for the Grizzlies as he is a Defensive Player of the Year, and Rose can facilitate the offense in Morant’s unavailability.
