According to NBA veteran Patrick Beverley, free agent Marcus Morris Sr. plans on signing with the Cavs. Beverley broke the news via The Pat Bev Podcast page and later shared the information from his private account. “Happy for you gang. See u down the road.” Pat Bev tweeted.

Morris recently became a free agent after he agreed to a contract buyout with the San Antonio Spurs. The 13-year veteran was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Indiana Pacers last month at the midseason trade deadline. The Pacers dealt Morris to the San Antonio Spurs for Forward Doug McDermott on the same day. Morris did not play any game for the Spurs and decided to test free agency following a contract buyout.

If the rumors are true, Marcus Morris Sr. could be a great addition for the Cavs. The 34-year-old can use his playoff experience to help Donovan Mitchell and Co. make a deep run in the playoffs. Morris is a solid two-way player who can shoot lights out from the three-point line. He is shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc this season, which could prove crucial in the playoffs. Several other teams were reportedly interested in acquiring Morris, including the Minnesota Timberwolves. It will be interesting to see which playoff contender gets their hands on the veteran Forward.

Before joining the Sixers, Morris played nearly 4 seasons with the Clippers. He had a solid run in LA and helped them reach the Western Conference Finals in 2021.

At 34 years old, Morris is not the player he used to be a few years ago. But he can still be a major asset on a Championship-contending team. With his three-point shooting ability and defensive mindset, Morris can be a key piece in the playoffs. He has a career average of 12.1 points and 4.5 rebounds. But in the playoffs, his average increases to 12.6 points and 5.1 rebounds.
