The Boston Celtics reminded the world why they are the best team in the NBA. After trailing by 7 points at the end of the first half, Jayson Tatum & co dominated the Washington Wizards in the second half and defeated them 133-129. It was a great team performance from the Celtics, and all the superstars chipped in with some points on the board. Jayson Tatum led the charge and finished the game with 35 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists. However, Kristaps Porzingis was the story of the night.

Porzingis had a dominant performance and scored 34 points and 11 rebounds. After the game, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla compared the Boston Celtics to Sony’s billion-dollar blockbuster movie to show how versatile the team is this season. “Have you ever seen Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse? Like 20 different Spider-mans? That’s our team… Success is going to look different every night,” Mazzulla said in the post-game interview.

According to Mazzulla’s analogy, the Celtics have multiple stars who can step up on any given night and lead their team to victory.

All 4 Celtics superstars came to play tonight. While Tatum and Porzingis were the leading scorers for the Celtics, Jaylen Brown and Jrue Holiday also had a decent game. Holiday had a great all-around game and finished with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Brown scored 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists to add to the tally.

Boston has an incredible starting lineup full of star players and a deep bench to take care of business when the starters are resting. That is the reason they have maintained the best record in the league this season.

Joe Mazzulla had jokes while the Celtics were losing

Although the Celtics came out with a win tonight, they were in deep trouble at the end of the first half. The Wizards started the game hot and outscored the Celtics 71-64 in the first 24 minutes. Joe Mazzulla revealed that he told some inappropriate jokes to the players during the third quarter to ease the tension.

That eventually helped Jayson Tatum and Co. refocus on the game and come out with a win. Jaylen Brown claimed he was not amused by Mazzulla’s jokes. “We were losing at the time. I didn’t find it funny.”

However, Brown agreed with Mazzulla’s Spider-Man comment, even though he did not fully understand what it meant. “Yeah, I guess everybody out there needs to be Spider-Man… Whatever that means,” Brown said in the post-game interview. The Celtics have played great all season and have a legitimate chance at winning the Championship this year.
