It was 2021 and the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns were hard at work. Games 1 and 2 saw the Suns come on top while the next four were the Bucks. And just like that, Phoenix was tossed out. But what caught the sharp eyes of the media and the Internet was something that happened after. Devin Booker, Jrue Holiday, and Khris Middleton were all part of Team USA for the Tokyo Olympics.
Not too soon after Booker and his team were crushed by Milwaukee, they had to travel together for an insanely long flight ride. Imagine the awkwardness. But, apparently, it wasn’t all that awkward. Joining the Old Man and The Three Podcast, Book finally talks about the then-dreaded flight.
“We took a flight man. It wasn’t awkward, it wasn’t awkward no,” he said. Booker just couldn’t resist adding, “The guys just smelled like shamp, no, I’m kidding.“

Despite whatever hard feelings Devin Booker might have had, the trio is now teammates and part of something bigger. Team USA was looking to get their fourth consecutive gold, and so all personal and NBA differences had to be left out on the court before all of them could play together.
Anyway, it seems like they managed to do just that. The team, led by Kevin Durant and coached by Gregg Popovich, defeated France in the finals 82-87 to bag the gold medal. But for Devin Booker, he’s more focused on getting that ring now.

The Suns’ shooting also factors into their success. In terms of three-point shooting percentage, Phoenix is currently tied for sixth rank. And their defense is in the top 10 in the league. With KD playing the season in an all-defense caliber, O’Neal’s impact as a versatile defender, and Allen, and Bol taking up difficult assignments with ease, are factors that will affect their championship chances positively.
