The Phoenix Suns suffered a humiliating 105-92 loss at home tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers. It’s not that the Suns lost, it’s the way they lost that caught everyone’s attention. Despite being heavily under-manned, the Clippers outscored Kevin Durant and Co. 37-10 in the first quarter. The Suns could not recover from that beatdown for the rest of the game. Tonight’s embarrassing loss even raised tensions in the Suns locker room, which Devin Booker revealed after the game.

A reporter asked Booker about the mood in the Suns’ locker room after the loss to the Clippers. The Suns’ superstar had shocking revelations: “I haven’t really talked to anybody, we’ll see on the plane. I’m sure pissed off”. Although Booker looked calm on the outside, he was frustrated after losing such a crucial game ahead of the playoffs.

Booker had an abysmal performance in tonight’s loss. He finished with only 12 points, shooting a horrific 1 of 11 from the field. Booker also missed all 4 of his attempts from beyond the arc. His co-stars, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, did not do any better. Durant went 8 of 22 from the field, finishing with only 21 points. Beal also had a terrible shooting night, making only 6 of his 13 field goal attempts. He scored 19 points in tonight’s loss.

Phoenix had a golden opportunity to improve their record tonight as the Clippers were playing without multiple superstars. Kawhi Leonard missed his 5th straight game due to right knee inflammation. And James Harden also sat out tonight due to a foot inflammation. Instead of capitalizing on LA’s weakness, the Suns lost the game and worsened their record to 46-33. They are seeded 7th in the Western Conference standings following tonight’s blowout loss.

Devin Booker is waiting for the playoffs to start

During the post-game interview, Booker revealed why he looked so calm despite losing to the Clippers. He confidently replied, “Because I’ve been here before.” Booker reminded everyone that he has had the best record in the NBA multiple times throughout his career, but everything still boils down to how the team performs in the playoffs. So, he is not too worried about the regular season. “We’re a week away from that (playoffs), and that’s when the story starts.” Booker added.

With 3 games remaining in the regular season, Booker is focused on getting his team to the playoffs. If the current standings hold till the end of the season, the Suns will face Sacramento in the play-in tournament for a chance to bag the 7th seed in the playoffs. The play-in tournament will begin next week on April 16.
