Team USA has taken the court for one last time before their game in Lille in 5 days. All eyes were on the team sheet as Steve Kerr again successfully disappointed the millions of Team USA fans. Not only the much-criticized Joel Embiid start, Anthony Edwards was also missing from the starting 5.
After Jaylen Brown’s Team USA snub, the conspiracy theories indicated his beef with Nike to be the possible reason for the exclusion. Many have theorized the same for Anthony Edwards, as he is getting overlooked due to his association with Adidas. But tonight Steve Kerr felt the brunt of the frustration as fans failed to fathom the idea of Ant’s benching.

Team USA fans call out Steve Kerr for Anthony Edwards snub
Fans were baffled to see the snub as Jrue Holiday started alongside Devin Booker, Steph Curry and, of course, LeBron James. To express their disagreement with the Team USA think-tank, fans took to social media platform X. “Another day of Anthony Edwards on team USA bench…fringe player,” a fan wrote in frustration. So far, Ant-Man has only started one game out of five and that just didn’t sit well with the USA hoop lovers.

Another fan added, “Never gonna see Anthony Edwards, Anthony Davis or Jayson Tatum in the starting lineup again.” This disappointed soul not only voiced in favor of Ant but also questioned the reasoning for not starting Jayson Tatum and Anthony Davis, who has been the best player of Team USA so far. The Lakers big man is averaging 12.2 points per game in the 4 appearances before the game against Germany and has 14 blocks to his name.

“Sack Embiid!!! Start ANT AD and Bam pair is enough,” a third fan posted. So far during the Olympic prep, Embiid is the only player who has been receiving negative feedback from analysts and fans alike. His fitness has been called into question alongside his gameplay. According to experts, Embiid’s game is hindering the flow of the team, which can be solved with AD and Bam Adebayo in the lineup being the muscle of the team. Starting Ant was another key takeaway from the comment, as he is the highest scorer for Team USA so far.

“Ant at the 2 book at the 3 and AD at the 5 sick of foul baiting centers,” quoted a fan, stating the simple thing so easily that even babies could understand. Ant at shooting guard, Booker on the wing with AD in the front court solves multiple problems for Kerr’s team. With Kevin Durant coming back to full fitness, he might be starting in place of his Suns teammate. That can only mean more bad news for Edwards, as Kerr might not want to add AD to balance the size in the paint.
