Ben Simmons‘s exit from the Sixers was anything but smooth. His subsequent actions after requesting a trade were also in poor taste. But it couldn’t have been easy for the Australian native to deal with all the social media criticisms and keep a level head. Reports confirm that Simmons was dealing with some mental health issues and all the while Philly kept hammering him about upping his game.

So, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to say that Simmons and the Sixers were going at it every chance. But, the 3x NBA All-Star is now much better, albeit after enduring multiple injuries and regaining his lost confidence. If we thought Ben was insane, he’s got a fan that challenges him on that front.

Ben Simmons is treated to wholesome fan love

Prior to the Nets’ preseason game on Monday against the 76ers, Simmons saw the extent a fan would go for their idols. The official Twitter handle of the Nets posted a video of a young fan with a huge ‘Ben’ face on his chest. Much to the chagrin of the man himself.

The comment section is exploding with hilarious comments. And why wouldn’t it? Ben’s expression of seeing the tattoo is priceless. He certainly wasn’t expecting something this grand.

The inked ‘Ben’ face was too much for the poor Australian to handle

Clearly, Ben Simmons isn’t the only one in agreement that the tattoo might be a bit too much. Maybe because he thought with the amount of hate he’s been receiving, there weren’t any fans left to vouch for him. He couldn’t be more wrong.

Yet, there’s no doubt the young fan was over the top. Scot Jacobsen is also of the same opinion, “Even Ben Simmons thinks that’s insane.”

Safe to say, he took the words right out of Simmons’ mouth. (Or at least what Simmons wished he said.)

Even Stephen A. Smith, who posted a video (31 Aug, ’23) on X (formerly Twitter) detailing his reasons for being pissed off at Ben, commented how “uncomfortable” this must be.

Another user turned the direction into a completely new headspace. Pretty sure that will be a hard image to erase now.

Taking a dig at Ben’s shooting capabilities, one user reminds us of an Instagram post (@basketball) that pretty much ripped Ben apart.

Eyes don’t lie. And a close-up of Ben’s face speaks louder than a thousand words.

Unfortunately for the eager fan, his sincere love for the ‘Fresh Prince’ will stay fresh in the minds of social media for a long time to come.
