On his podcast,’ Rogue Bogues’, Andrew Bogut emphasizes the need to recognize the ages involved. He claims that Giddey’s actions would be unacceptable if he was intentionally pursuing a 15-year-old girl as an adult. But what Bogut is suggesting is that the girl has allegedly exaggerated her age, which has added further complications to this situation. His exact words were, “From what I understand, the girl in question lied about her age and said that she was of age at the time”. He even stressed the timeline when this alleged incident occurred. He said, “This has also happened over a year ago now. I don’t think this is something that’s happened recently, much to the people thinking on social media it has.

He also pointed out the fact that both OKC and the NBA have allowed him to play. “OKC have been aware of this from what I’m told for the last year, they’ve known about it. They deemed Josh free to play, they didn’t see any concerns. The NBA have allowed that, which is kind of telling because when these things happen, the NBA really tries to take a couple of games off to even this thing out”, he shared. How has this situation affected the Thunders star?
Besides the on-court performance decline, the issue has also led to the termination of lucrative opportunities for Josh Giddey. The 21-year-old guard is about to lose a sponsorship from Weet-Bix, which is an Australian cereal brand. This deal was valued to be roughly around $40 million. The cereal brand has not officially announced anything but they have deleted anything related to him from their social media handles. Due to that fans and analysts speculate that the brand is parting ways with Josh Giddey.
