The cardiac arrest brought in a deep melancholy for the entire family. King James counted all his blessings upon receiving all the love from across the globe.

And now, expressing his gratitude, the NBA legend took to social media to shower some love upon his family. But, relaxing after his son is out of danger, it seems new concerns are emerging for LeBron.

Even LeBron James’ story couldn’t save the billion-dollar company

Chris Robinson’s biopic Shooting Stars is based on LeBron James’ real-life struggles as a high school kid before he made it to the NBA. The movie found an impressive amount of success. It officially gained the highest viewership during its first four weeks in the platform’s history. However, it was still not enough to pull the streaming platform from massive losses.

Despite the major success of King James’ biopic, NBC Universal, the parent company of Peacock, experienced $651 million in losses in 2023. The growing subscriber base of the streaming service impacted the company’s overall financial health, leading to a projected $3 billion deficit by 2023.

The president of Comcast, Michael J. Cavanagh, had some words to share. He says, “Peacock’s full-year EBITDA loss of $2.5 billion was in line with the outlook we provided a year ago; and for 2023, we expect Peacock losses to be up modestly to around $3 billion.

He further adds, “As we’ve said previously, we believe 2023 will be peak losses for Peacock and from there steadily improve”.

What is the movie about?

Shooting Stars’ trailer showcased Peacock’s message of effort and perseverance in the Los Angeles Lakers star. The movie, featuring Algee Smith and Dermot Mulroney, highlights a determined kid from Akron chasing his dreams.

The movie follows the renowned athlete when he was still a teenage high school player with lots of goals, and it is based on the book by Buzz Bissinger.

Mookie Cook was in charge of playing younger James. Caleb McLaughlin played Dru Joyce III, a former professional basketball player who now works as a coach.
