H.E.R. paid a visit to the Barclays Center and met with Brooklyn Nets guard Mikal Bridges. The two decided to play a game of H.O.R.S.E, which led to a wholesome moment. Mikal asked the R&B artist to look into the camera and say, “Mikal’s my favorite player in the league.” and shoot a jumper from the logo. Mikal made the shot, and H.E.R. had to follow the same to avoid getting a letter. She gladly repeated the line to the camera, but unfortunately bricked the logo shot. The ball rolled away after hitting the rim, and H.E.R. ran to collect the ball. “This is embarrassing.” The singer said.

Although Mikal asked H.E.R. to call him her favorite player the first time, the Grammy-winning artist doubled down on her statement. While she was going to pick the ball up, she turned towards Bridges and said, “You are my favorite player in the league though.”

Bridges was happy to hear the compliment and appreciated the singer.

Mikal Bridges could be a key piece in a championship team

Even though Mikal Bridges is having a great individual season, the Brooklyn Nets are nowhere near contending for the title. They are 9th in the Eastern Conference with a 16-20 record. Bridges might be wasting his best years in a mediocre team when he could be playing a major role in a Championship team. He spent 5 years in Phoenix and was a key piece in their run to the NBA Finals in 2021. His incredible performance earned him a 4-year $90.9 million contract in 2022. But the Suns gave him up to acquire 2-time Champion Kevin Durant.

Bridges still has 2 years left on his contract, and he might look to be a part of the team that can make a deep run in the playoffs and contend for the title. With his incredible scoring and shooting ability, Bridges can make a huge impact on any team he joins. He has been the star of the Nets squad ever since he stepped foot in Brooklyn.
