The in-season tournament game between the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday was off to a wild start. Before any team even put up a point on the board, three players on the court were ejected for getting into a physical altercation. The fight broke out when Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels started pulling each other?s jerseys during a play. Rudy Gobert tried to interfere by holding Klay from behind but was quickly stopped by Draymond Green, who choked Gobert from behind and dragged him for several seconds.

NBA legend calls out Karl-Anthony Towns

The scuffle between the Warriors and the Timberwolves was the point of discussion in the latest episode of Gil?s Arena Podcast, hosted by Washington Wizards legend Gilbert Arenas. Early in the first quarter, Jaden McDaniels and Klay Thompson got into a jersey-pulling contest in the middle of the game. Rudy Gobert tried to grab Klay from behind and put his arms around Klay?s neck and waist. Klay?s long-time teammate, Draymond Green, was not having any of it and held Rudy in a choke hold from behind and dragged him away from Klay.

Gilbert Arenas was livid at the fact that Gobert?s teammate Karl-Anthony Towns was standing right behind Draymond and did not stop him from choking his teammate. ?Draymond can get choked too. Karl, get your choke on, make it a train.? Arenas said. Several members from both teams tried to get Rudy out of Draymond?s choke hold, but he was still stuck in that position for a good 7-8 seconds. KAT was closest to the action with his hands on Draymond?s arms, but could not do much to stop the Warriors Center.

What will be the consequences of the Warriors-Timberwolves fight?

After the fight, Jaden McDaniels, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green were ejected from the game. Surprisingly, no action was taken against Rudy Gobert, and he stayed on the floor to finish the match. But it looks like there will be more consequences to the Warriors-Timberwolves scuffle. It was a crazy incident that had not happened in many years. A lot of players get into shoving matches during games but are quickly separated by their teammates. But this is the first time in years that a player has applied a choke hold on his opponent for a significantly long time.

Draymond Green might be looking at a long suspension after his actions in yesterday?s game. He has a history of dirty plays throughout his career, and the league will consider that while thinking of a penalty for the Warriors Center. Other players involved in the scuffle might also face some form of punishment from the league.
