Everybody has their quirks. And it seems like Gilbert Arenas’ is bizarre reasoning. Gil’s Arena crew is back once again with another lengthy episode of the NBA’s viral moments from last night. They also touch on the themed birthday party of LeBron James. Despite receiving the invitation to the lavish party, Gil took a raincheck.

When asked about the reason, he cited the most ridiculous reason anyone could give – “I don’t party.” If this was from a normally quiet, reserved person, the chances of believing it would be somewhat there. But for someone like Arenas to pass on LeBron’s party, and with an outlandish reason as this, seems too good to be true.

Given the extravagant lifestyles of basketball players, active or former, a party is as natural as breathing. Call it the third arm and no one would disagree. So, the “unbelievable” factor here is high. But that’s Gil’s choice and decision. And until something concrete comes forward disputing his claim, we are left with his reason, bizarre as it seems.

While Arenas might have passed on the party of the year, there certainly was a lot of A-list attendance at Hyde Sunset.

The King’s birthday party this time around became viral for a different reason. The name of the reason – Draymond Green. There is no doubt that everyone James extended an invitation to would be in attendance (almost everyone) unless they have a ‘very good reason’.

Green’s awe of the Lakers legend is nothing new. So, despite serving his indefinite suspension, Dray made sure that he would be there for LeBron’s big day. While the Arenas crew seems skeptical about his presence, owing to the blurry picture that’s available on the internet, it does seem highly probable that Draymond Green was in attendance, along with Anthony Davis.

Draymond’s admiration for the ‘Akron Hammer’ was made even more apparent during the Warriors‘ road trip in February 2023. Green had requested his coach and teammates to miss part of their road trip to watch King James in action as he got closer to breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record (broke the record on February 7th).

Of course, Kerr didn’t allow it. But it goes to show the depth of respect and love the controversial veteran has for one of the NBA’s greatest! And why Green’s presence at the King’s birthday celebration is not so unbelievable.
