The Los Angeles Lakers became the first team in NBA history to have a father-son duo in LeBron James and Bronny James take the court. It’s never easy, you know? In fact, it’s astonishing to see Bronny hyping his father during highlight plays on the court. Even though his stat board doesn’t paint a pretty picture, the franchise acknowledges another crucial part of his presence with the Lakers.

If you didn’t know yet, Bronny James, yes, the son of King James, created a record for jersey sales after his draft to the Lakers. It’s crazy right, with world-class ballers like Anthony Davis and LeBron on the floor; let alone, Bronny made it. Lakers owner, Jeanie Buss, would have loved the record and the revenue the young kid brought in.

Significantly, Bronny Mania has taken over, with former Warrior Gilbert Arenas also wanting a jersey! In a viral clip from Gils Arena, the ex-hoopster casually requested the young gun, “What’s up, Bronny?” for his hot-selling jersey. As he streamed the game between the Lakers and Timberwolves, Arenas placed the request. He knew, “he was on his phone,” as he texted for Bronny’s kit.

Normally, players fixate their eyes on the game. But Bronny replied to Arenas during the game and the former Wizards player couldn’t contain his excitement! Arenas cited, “Yeah, yeah, I need that jersey.”

Fans still scratch their heads as they hear how LeBron James’ son’s jersey became the talk of the town for record sales. He’s quite famous, you know, with over 8.1 million followers on Instagram! Yet, where does he rank amongst the greats?

Reportedly, over 500,000 jerseys donning his name made rounds in the store and sold like hot pancakes! You have to say, that’s insane! The Lakers saw massive success from Bronny’s jersey sales, with most jerseys sold for approximately $100, raking in over $50 million.

Without a doubt, those numbers would ideally be increasing to another level in the future. So, off the court, Bronny’s making history with brilliant jersey sales. Nevertheless, where does he rank amongst the top-selling jerseys of the NBA?

Michael Jordan became the NBA’s most influential player, topping the list for most jersey sales. The iconic No. 23 still rings in the minds of the basketball fraternity and we don’t feel those numbers toppling anytime soon. But in comes another Lakers player in the form of Kobe Bryant. Black Mamba’s death became the most tragic moment in NBA history. Yet, tributes poured in, and the demand for a #8 or #24 Lakers jersey increased. They wanted a piece of Kobe’s famous numbers as it became an emotional memento.

Bronny’s father LeBron James lies next on the list. It’s not a surprise as he still goes strong at the age of 39! Having a piece of father-son memorabilia allows fans to appreciate an unforgettable duo in NBA history.

Hence, Bronny has a long way to go before he can make a long-lasting dent with his father or the rest of the legends mentioned. However, if he drastically improves his game on the court, who knows, he could bring the Lakers more jersey sales in the future!
