Unlike most sports shows on television, TNT’s Inside the NBA has managed to capture the hearts of its audience since its inception in 1989. Of course, apart from the game analysis, a lot of it is the palpable chemistry their legendary crew shares on screen. However, with NBC reportedly outbidding TNT for the new media rights deal, there is a high chance that next season might be the last one for Ernie Johnson and the crew. And amid the rumors, TNT’s new employee Draymond Green’s latest appearance on the show has even turned the faithful fans against it.
Replacing the usual Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley on the show, Draymond Green and Vince Carter joined the crew in their absence on Tuesday. Yes, the same night the Timberwolves got blown out by the Nuggets in Ball Arena to go down 2-3 in the ongoing series. And after watching Anthony Edwards and Co.’s horrible performance in Denver, Draymond was certain that they would not win another game in this series. Throwing shade at four-time DPOY Rudy Gobert, who he put in a headlock earlier this season, Draymond said, “It’s you my man that’s getting cooked.”
“When you lose the belief… it’s over. They don’t believe they can win anymore, which means this series is over.”

Although Gobert was on the receiving end of Jokic’s forty-point beatdown, Draymond Green could probably have phrased his words a different way. Then, doubling down on the criticism, Draymond pointed out that the way the 31-year-old walked off the court after losing the game, limping and hobbling, showed the veteran star that Minnesota had lost all confidence. “When you lose the belief, it’s over. They don’t believe they can win anymore, which means this series is over.” Green added.
Green faces the fans’ wrath as Wolves prove him wrong
While Draymond’s presence on the show made for some entertaining television, it took the Wolves only two days to make him eat his words. With their backs against the wall, ‘Ant-Man’s squad fought back on their home court last night and turned the tables on the Nuggets by blowing them out by forty-five points. Not only did Minnesota’s dominant performance force a Game 7 in Denver on Sunday, but it also tainted Green’s credibility as an analyst in the fans’ minds. And commenting on the clip where he bashed the Wolves, fans were quick to slam the Warriors star.
Frustrated after watching Draymond on the show, one fan even commented, “Glad NBC won.” While it is still not made official by the involved parties that the media rights are going to NBC, veteran Insider Bill Simmons claimed that the deal is done and “it’s a wrap” for TNT.

Many other fans shared the same sentiment about Draymond Green being on Inside the NBA and one even claimed that the only silver lining of the show ending next year would be to not hear Green on national TV anymore.
One small silverlining of NBC taking over for TNT.. we don’t have to hear Draymond’s opinion on national TV anymore (hopefully)

Calling him a “clown” another fan also turned on the beloved show because of Green’s appearance.
One good thing about no more TNT is no more this clown

This confused fan was left wondering why TNT gave Green a platform to voice his opinions about the game. Then, defending Rudy Gobert by comparing Nikola Jokić to prime Shaq, the fan claimed that even Draymond Green wouldn’t stand a chance against Jokic on the court.
Why does TNT give this man a platform?! As if Draymond would stand a chance against Jokic… Jokic is similar to Shaq in his prime when absolutely nobody could stop him

Referring to the 34-year-old as the “ultimate villain” this fan criticized TNT for bringing him on the show and couldn’t wait for NBC to take over the broadcasting rights.
Y’all know I don’t cuss, but how in the #@%***# is Draymond on the TNT nba show. I thought he was the ultimate villain. I can’t, I just can’t. Please NBC, take over. Please.

Even if the reports are true and NBC is about to take over the media rights, there is at least another year of Inside the NBA remaining before their current deal ends. And with Draymond Green signing a multi-year deal two years ago to become a member of the Turner Sports Family, we can expect to see more of him on the show in the future. While that rubs some fans the wrong way, it is unlikely that Draymond will shy away from giving his honest opinions on screen because that is what brought him here in the first place. What are your thoughts?
