Joel Embiid and the Sixers faced an abysmal defeat at the hands of Indiana after The Process dropped 70 on the Spurs. The Pacers held the home-court advantage as they won 134-122 against the Embiid squad, despite not having Tyrese Haliburton.

And with this win, the Pacers snapped the 76ers‘ six-game winning streak, which started with their win over the Sacramento Kings on the 12th. Including the Kings’ game, Embiid had been sidelined for three games because of a knee inflammation. And it seems like he might not be completely healthy after all.

Philly has been dealing with somewhat of an injury bug the past few days. Though missing key players, Embiid has managed to stay relatively healthy. But the 76ers’ loss to Indiana has their superstar MVP opening up about his condition. “I haven’t been feeling too well, but I just got to keep battling. I can manage it, and go from there.”

With five key players missing from the roster, one can imagine the difficulties it would cause. Though the 7-foot big man has been haunted by injuries, his sheer will and determination were no match for them. It could be that, but this season has been kind to the 7x All-Star.

The 76ers vs Pacers

While it was a crushing defeat for Philly, it was a great night for Indiana. They just snapped a three-game losing streak with the win against the Sixers. Recent trade acquisition, Pascal Siakam led the way with a triple-double – 26 points, 10 assists, and 13 rebounds. It also marked his sixth career triple-double.

The Pacers presented a united front, with the majority of the players on the court scoring in double figures. Myles Turner had 20, while Andrew Nembhard was right behind with 19 points. Aaron Nesmith contributed 16 points, Benedict Mathurin and Obi Toppin each provided 13.

Despite the apparent health struggles, Joel Embiid led the scorers with 31 points, while Tyrese Maxey managed to be of assistance with 22 points. Only four more players had points in double figures, while the rest of them tried their best to keep up with the Pacers, but Siakam ensured the team always stayed in control.

“Not only is there more to life than basketball, there’s a lot more to basketball than basketball” - Jackson had a simple philosophy when he was coaching the Lakers. He wanted everyone to succeed and grow in the service of something bigger than themselves. This is what struck me the most.
