Hawks Legend Gives Verdict on Trae Young and Co’s Late-Game Collapse in Kings Stinger

The Atlanta Hawks choked against the Sacramento Kings. Trae Young and Co. had a commanding 18-point lead heading into the second half of tonight’s game. But the Kings pulled off a huge comeback and outscored the Hawks 64-39 in the second period. The Hawks lost the game 117-110. The fans in Atlanta were devastated as their team fell to the 11th spot in the Western Conference standings with a 12-19 record.

Atlanta Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins spoke for every Hawks fan and gave a harsh verdict on Trae Young and Co.’s late-game collapse against the Kings.

Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins was devastated after the Atlanta Hawks blew a huge lead against the Sacramento Kings in tonight’s game. He was at a loss for words and just said, “This is agonizing.” Dominique was the leader of the Hawks during their golden era. He played 12 seasons in Atlanta and is arguably the greatest player in Hawks’ franchise history. So, it is understandable why the current downfall of the Hawks has been heartbreaking for him to witness.

The Hawks had a solid chance of snapping their losing streak tonight, but they blew it. Trae Young and Co. are now on a 4-game losing streak. Trae Young had a disappointing performance and finished with only 24 points. His co-star, Dejounte Murray, had an even worse game. He scored only 18 points and 3 assists. Meanwhile, Sacramento’s superstar duo of Domantas Sabonis and DeAaron Fox dominated the game. Fox led the game in scoring with 31 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds. Sabonis put up a monster double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds.

It is evident from the Atlanta Hawks’ performance this season that they are not going to have much impact this year. They might not even make it to the playoffs. The duo of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray has failed miserably so far. And it might be time to blow things up. The Hawks are reportedly looking to put Murray into the trade market and part ways with him before the trade deadline. He is a solid player but has not fit well on the Hawks roster.

Trae Young’s prime is being wasted in Atlanta amid their recent struggles. Meanwhile, players from his draft class have reached great heights already. Players like Luka Doncic and Deandre Ayton have already made it deep into the playoffs and even gone to the NBA Finals. If the Hawks do not figure things out quickly, Trae Young might start considering going to a new destination to find success.
