Mark Cuban is reportedly selling the majority stake in the Dallas Mavericks to Miriam Adelson from the casino tycoon Adelson family for a valuation in the vicinity of a whopping $3.5 billion. Cuban purchased a majority stake in the Mavericks franchise in 2000 for $285 million. That means the 65-year-old will make an astounding profit of around $3.2 billion in valuation if the rumors are true. Of course, the actual profit he makes depends on the stake he sells. The sale does not mean that Cuban will no longer be associated with the Mavericks.

Citing sources, Shams Charania of The Athletic said that even after the sale, Cuban will retain full control of basketball operations in a unique setup. That sounds like a dream scenario for the billionaire. Cuban makes an exponential profit on the sale and gets control of the operations without having to solely worry about the monetary side of it.
