Although the 2011 lockout happened much before he rose to unprecedented prominence, the situation may have come as a shock to the 2-time MVP as well. However, millionaire Stephen Curry and his wife did not stop their lavish ways, even in this period of uncertainty.

Ayesha Curry recently discussed an unbelievable decision the couple made during the 2011 NBA lockout. She detailed how they ended up purchasing a whopping $1,275,000 mansion in Curry’s hometown, Charlotte.

So we’re at home all fall for this lockout, that’s when we get pregnant so I’m getting used to this, I have you at home, this is beautiful…we got a house in Charlotte like I don’t know what were thinking like oh! We’re gonna be here forever, lockout,” she hilariously claimed.

By Christmas that year, Curry returned to his Warriors duty, which meant that the couple could not get back to their enormous mansion any time soon. However, what did the Currys miss out on in 2011?

Ayesha Curry mentioned their spontaneity in purchasing a mansion in Charlotte. However, even in a haste, the couple seem to make unbelievably smart choices. The mansion they purchased is one of a kind to say the least.

The house is located in the posh Skycroft neighborhood near Charlotte. The mansion boasts of a brick, 2-story European-style structure. It is a 7,650 square feet property, with 4 bedrooms, and 4 full and 3 half bathrooms. It also has a wine cellar, theater, library and game room.

Given the couple’s taste in fashion and luxury, the interiors of the house naturally were nothing short of spectacular. It features intricately crafted light fixtures and antique-looking chandeliers and stone fireplaces that look like they’re straight out of medieval times.

Although they have parted ways with this marvelous mansion, Ayesha Curry still remembers the memories attached to their purchase. This is anyway, just one of the sizable number of extravagant purchases the couple have made over the years.
