Did we say that the Dallas Mavericks vs LA Clippers has become one of the most eagerly anticipated playoff matchups this season? Well, we are saying it again! The sheer brilliance and impressive plays have astounded fans and fellow NBA players; more so when these phenomenal shots come from the legends of the league. Known for his remarkable athleticism even in the 21st year of his basketball career, LeBron James is simply in shock over Kyrie Irving.

The Dallas star showcased a stunning And 1 with a speed that rivals, perhaps, the Dolphins’ wide receiver Tyreek “Cheetah” Hill. The “King” took to X to comment on his appreciation and awe for Irving’s play. “OMG KYRIE!!!!!!!! That’s was INSANE”

This play happened in the third quarter and Dallas was up 59-50. James Harden was dribbling up the court, followed closely by Kyrie and PJ Washington. The whole crowding made Harden lose his footing and control of the ball, which Irving picked up in a matter of nanoseconds if you will. Normal Powell was along for this ride, as well.

And when the 2016 champion took control, Powell was right in front of him, hoping to swat it out of his hand. But the veteran guard showed unbelievable ball-handling skills as he continued his drive to the basket. At one point, he even went for a behind-the-back to keep Clippers No. 24 at bay. And then it was a slam in front of charged Mavs fans.

It is no wonder that LeBron James was amazed by his former teammate. A play like this will make any basketball great weak at the knees. It was simply that mesmerizing. But then again, there could have been another factor that contributed to Kyrie Irving putting his best foot forward tonight. Aside from the obvious critical nature of the matchup, of course.

A fairly private man, it’s rare to see Kyrie Irving’s non-player side. But the few instances we have seen are enough to know how much of a family guy he is. Another factor he shares with the ultimate family man, LeBron James. As successful as Kyrie has been in keeping his personal life private, the same can’t be said of the James clan. Then again, that is perhaps the only luxury the ‘Chosen One’ cannot afford.

Well, we can be sure that with Bron’s open admiration, the next round of rumors will be him suiting up in a Mavs jersey and turning into a Big 3 in Dallas. But, he did ask everyone to stop with the speculations. And yet, easier said than done. The downside of being LeBron James, we suppose.
